[There is a version in 1969, with the following inscription: "As sung by my grandfather, Charlie Thompson."] [There is also a version for soprano and piano (1973). 5 pages. There is another version for SSAA Quartet (2000)] [based on a spiritual]

Orchestration: 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 B-flat clarinets, bass clarinet in B flat, 2 bassoons, 4 horns in F, 2 trumpets in B flat, 3 trombones, 1 tuba, timpani (28", 25" and 23") and strings. [This was read by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, but not publicly performed.]
