Premiere: 1987; Paul Robeson Cultural and Performing Arts Center, Central State University, Ohio. Orchestration: 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 B-flat clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 F horns, 2 trumpets, 2 tenor trombones, bass trombone and tuba. timpani, Bass drum, strings. Roles: 3 sopranos, 2 mezzo sopranos, 2 tenors, baritone and bass baritone.

Tempo for Wind Ensemble and Soprano (1993). Text by R.H. Grenville (lives in Victoria, Canada). 17 pages. Orchestration: piccolo, flute, oboe, 3 B-flat clarinets, alto clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, 3 trumpets, 4 F horns, baritone horn, 3 trombones, basses, timpani, drums, soprano solo. Text by Frank Horne. Duration 3:02;(2) "Fulfillment" (1989) Text by Zenobia P. Perry. Duration 2:25; (3) "Mary had a baby" (1980) for soprano and violoncello and piano. [This is an arrangement of a folksong.] Duration: 2:32. "Kidstuff" was recorded by Sebronette Barnes on a compact disc issued in 2000 on Senrab Records.

[At one time this was called Atmosphere Cycle; the first performance only included "Threnody," "Poet" and "Pastourelle."] There is also a version of "Benediction" for violin and piano.

Premiered at Dayton Chamber Music Society, September 28, 1975. [There is another version of "Written in Spring" for violin, cello, clarinet and bassoon.]
